Wish Upon A Star takes it's Final Flight

Illustration

“Once upon a time, in 2006, a brand-new musical took flight. With just a small cast of teenagers, a few backyard rehearsals, way too much fun, and an endless supply of heart, we put together a performance full of love, hope, and wonder…“Wish Upon A Star.” It was such an incredible experience that Steffen asked if we could have an encore performance of WUAS before he headed off to college. At the final rehearsal for that second performance, just days before we lost him, Stef and I talked about how excited we were to do the show for a second time. I told him how amazing it would be if we did the show again the following year so that everyone could come back together to make magic. His response, full of all that inspiring ‘Peter Pan’ energy I had seen the first day I met him, was very simply ‘we could do it every year for twenty years!’” - Leslie Noel Hansen

Written overnight by our founder and inspired by the incredible Steffen Ryge, what began as a spark of creativity became “Wish Upon a Star” - a production that has since inspired participants and audiences for two magical decades.
Over the years, “Wish Upon a Star” has weathered many challenges - beginning with the heartbreak of losing our original Peter Pan. Yet through grief, a global pandemic, and all the moments in between, one belief has always remained at the heart of the production: you can fly.
This upcoming May, after 20 unforgettable years, “Wish Upon a Star” will take its final flight. While it's difficult to bring our beloved show to an end, we are beyond proud to have a show that has run successfully for two decades, and we're ready to make new memories and write new stories of inspiration and wonder together!
This WUAS final bow is just one part of a monumental 20th anniversarycelebration year for The Peter Pan Foundation, culminating with a gala in January of 2027 that will set the stage for our next era of PPF magic; one that brings our focus back to the heart of our mission: creation, connection, and community service through the magic of music.
We can't wait to celebrate the journey, the memories, and the magic with you all.
